WhatsApp introduces picture-in-picture mode for Watching Instagram, YouTube, Facebook Videos In-App

WhatsApp is experiencing a clear period of change. Over the past couple of weeks a lot of new features have appeared in the messenger, as well as gestures support. Today, the Android platform has received another important feature that has been available for some time in the iOS version: video playback in the background.

In the latest version of WhatsApp, videos from YouTube, Instagram and Facebook look a bit different in the preview window. Now, by clicking on the video playback button, you can move the window with the video to any point on the screen. The current WhatsApp session remains active, so you can continue to write or read messages as usual.

Now the picture-in-picture mode seems to work only for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, and video, for example, from Twitter does not start. In order to watch PiP-video, now you need to update the messenger to WhatsApp Beta v2.18.301. You can wait for the update from the Play Store or download it manually from the APK Mirror .

By the way, the domestic ICQ messenger is not much inferior to WhatsApp. In addition to group calls, he also has other strengths that are missing from the Facebook brainchild. ICQ supports pins of messages and references of users in them, search and editing sent messages, as well as stickers (search by sets, emoji, etc.).
