New NVIDIA graphics cards face a shortage due to miners

Last year, due to the rise in prices for cryptocurrency, miners bought massively video cards, because of which they were either not available for sale at all, or their prices were too high. It is possible that NVIDIA GeForce RTX video cards presented in August  will suffer the same fate. According to the Tweaktown report, the new graphics processors turned out to be extremely interesting not only for gamers, but also for the miners.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Testing results showed that with the production of Ethereum, the top NVIDIA GeForce RTX is twice as efficient as the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. And this is despite the fact that this video card is not optimized for cryptocurrency mining.
“When we have 11 GB of overclocked GDDR6 memory in the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition, we see that Ethereum's extraction efficiency is incredibly high and reaches 55 MH / s. This is almost two times more than the GTX 1080 Ti, which is simply unbelievable, ”say Tweaktown experts.
It is important to note that the tests were carried out on the stand with the Intel Core i7-8700K processor and the Claymore Dual GPU Miner version 11.9 application. This program does not yet support the Turing architecture used in NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards, which means that not the full potential of the accelerator was revealed in the test.
However, the hype around cryptocurrency has fallen along with their course, so there may not be an increased demand for new video cards.
